What is the New Zealand Group Coach Tour itinerary?
Eleven nights by coach from Auckland to Queenstown: Rotorua, Wellington, the Cook Strait ferry, Kaikōura, Christchurch, Lake Tekapo and Aoraki / Mount Cook, ending with Milford Sound from Te Anau. Explera DMC New Zealand plans each day within the driver’s work-time rules and quotes it per group — price on request.

Why it runs in this order.
North to south in one direction, with the Cook Strait ferry mid-tour. Long legs alternate with two-night stops, and the Milford Sound day starts from Te Anau rather than Queenstown, because a return coach day from Queenstown can run past a driver’s legal work day.
Who it suits: Series and ad-hoc groups of around 20 and more travelling with a tour leader, from wholesalers, associations and special-interest groups. Smaller parties can take the same route with a driver-guide.
Destination guides on this route: Auckland, Hobbiton (Matamata), Rotorua, Taupō, Wellington, Kaikōura, Christchurch, Lake Tekapo, Aoraki / Mount Cook, Wānaka, Queenstown, Te Anau & Fiordland, Milford Sound.
Services this programme draws on: Group tours & GIT, Coach & private transfers, Scenic rail & Cook Strait ferries.

New Zealand Group Coach Tour — what agents ask.
How long is the New Zealand Group Coach Tour itinerary?
11 nights. North to south in one direction, with the Cook Strait ferry mid-tour. Long legs alternate with two-night stops, and the Milford Sound day starts from Te Anau rather than Queenstown, because a return coach day from Queenstown can run past a driver’s legal work day.
How far ahead does it need booking?
Nine to twelve months for December to February departures, when group hotel rooms, ferry space for the coach and Queenstown rooms are the constraint; six months for the shoulder seasons.
How is this programme priced?
Price on request. Explera DMC New Zealand quotes each departure per group as one package price covering the coach, hotels, meals, entrances and guide; on request we can split it into hotels and land arrangements. Travel agents and tour operators receive a confidential net rate.
Why does the Milford Sound day start from Te Anau?
Because a return coach day from Queenstown can reach a commercial driver’s 13-hour work day. Basing the night in Te Anau keeps the day within the rules without a second driver.
