South Island Campervan Loop.
Twelve nights round the South Island in a campervan, with every night pre-booked at a holiday park so nobody spends the evening looking for a place to stop.
What is the South Island Campervan Loop itinerary?
Twelve nights in a Christchurch-return campervan loop through the Mackenzie Country, Queenstown, Fiordland, Wānaka, the West Coast glaciers and Arthur’s Pass, with powered holiday-park sites pre-booked for each night. Quoted at net rates.
Last updated: 5 October 2026
Why it runs in this order.
First night in a Christchurch hotel, so nobody collects a large vehicle straight off a long-haul flight. Inland and south first, then up the West Coast and back over Arthur’s Pass, with shorter drives on the days the van is new to the driver.
Who it suits: Independent couples and families with some driving confidence who want flexibility and the outdoors. Not for clients who expect hotel service every night.
Destination guides on this route: Christchurch, Lake Tekapo, Aoraki / Mount Cook, Queenstown, Te Anau & Fiordland, Milford Sound, Wānaka, Franz Josef Glacier, Hokitika, Arthur’s Pass & the TranzAlpine.
Services this programme draws on: Self-drive & campervan programmes, FIT & tailor-made, 24/7 support & insurance assistance.
