Short answer: The 106th New Zealand Open runs from Thursday 25 to Sunday 28 February 2027 at Millbrook Resort near Arrowtown and Queenstown. It is the last of three New Zealand events on the Challenger PGA Tour of Australasia in February 2027. The organiser says spectator entry is free for all ages. Explera DMC New Zealand plans rooms, transfers and golf programmes around the New Zealand Open 2027.

This briefing is for travel agents, tour operators and incentive planners with golf groups in New Zealand in February 2027. A group can watch the tournament, play nearby courses on other days and add the Queenstown region around it.

What do we know about the New Zealand Open 2027?

  • The dates. Thursday 25 to Sunday 28 February 2027, at Millbrook Resort, as announced by the organiser on 3 August 2026.
  • The New Zealand Swing. The Open is the finale of three New Zealand events on the Challenger PGA Tour of Australasia. The NZ PGA Championship is at Paraparaumu Beach Golf Club from 11 to 14 February, and the Japan-Australasia Championship is at Royal Auckland & Grange Golf Club from 18 to 21 February.
  • The Open link. The organiser says the tournament is part of The Open Qualifying Series in 2027. The leading player not already exempt earns a place in The 155th Open at St Andrews, held from 11 to 18 July 2027.
  • The pro-am. The tournament has a pro-am for amateur players. The organiser says the amateur field for 2027 is fully sold.

What do spectators need to know?

  • Admission. The organiser's spectator page says entry is free for all ages, and gates open at 6:30am each day.
  • Parking. On-site parking costs NZD 10 a day and is cashless. Shuttles run from the car park around the resort. Overnight camper parking is not available.
  • Public bus. The page says the bus between Queenstown and Arrowtown stops on Arrowtown-Lake Hayes Road near the Millbrook side entrance.
  • No smoking. Smoking is not permitted at Millbrook Resort because of a fire ban in the region.

What should agents plan for?

  • Rooms. Millbrook Resort hosts the tournament, and its amateur packages include rooms at the resort. We hold rooms in Queenstown or Arrowtown early for the tournament week.
  • Coach access. For a group with its own coach, we confirm drop-off and parking with the organiser before the event rather than rely on the public car park.
  • Playing golf. Golfers who want to play can do so before or after the tournament. We request tee times at other Queenstown courses for the days around it.
  • Non-golfers. Arrowtown's main street, the Queenstown trails and wine tasting in the Gibbston Valley suit guests who do not follow the golf.
  • Combining events. A golf group can follow all three New Zealand events, from the Kāpiti Coast to Auckland and then Queenstown, with domestic flights between them.
