Booked appointments. The main part of the event is a schedule of 15-minute meetings between buyers and sellers. TRENZ says a buyer can have up to 52 appointments.
Famils. TRENZ offers host city famils for buyers, and pre and post-TRENZ famils.
The size. Tourism Industry Aotearoa said TRENZ 2026 in Auckland had about 1,200 delegates and about 16,000 business meetings over two and a half days.

Why does Christchurch matter for 2027?

Fourth time in the city. TRENZ 2027 is the fourth TRENZ in Christchurch and the second at Te Pae.
A South Island start. Christchurch is the main gateway to the South Island, so buyers can see Canterbury, the Southern Alps and the West Coast before or after the event.
Mid-May timing. May is late autumn in New Zealand. Some activities run shorter hours, and the ski season usually opens from mid-June, so plan famil content for autumn conditions.
