Arts and culture in New Zealand, for the trade.
Museums, galleries, festivals and craft, city by city.

Where are the best arts and culture stops for groups?
Wellington, Auckland, Christchurch and Dunedin each hold a major museum or gallery, and festivals such as World of WearableArt add a dated hook. Admission rules differ and have changed recently, so confirm entry and opening status at quotation.

Why this theme sells.
Museums and galleries are the dependable wet-weather option in a country sold on landscape, and each city does one thing best: a national museum in Wellington, a repaired gallery in Christchurch, a long-established public gallery in Dunedin.
Festivals and shows give an arts programme a date to build around, but they also tighten rooms, so the calendar matters as much as the venue.
Places and experiences to know.
Te Papa Tongarewa, Wellington
The national museum sits on the waterfront. New Zealanders and residents enter free, but international visitors aged 16 and over pay an entry fee that has applied since September 2024, so allow for it in a group budget. Its marae, Rongomaraeroa, is on Level 4.
