Both were reported by 1News on 20 October 2026. Explera DMC New Zealand plans rooms, transfers and South Island touring around the two dates. Dunedin is the main city of Otago, on the South Island's south-east coast. This briefing is for travel agents and tour operators who sell music and event travel, and for anyone with a group in the lower South Island in early March 2027. ## What is on in Dunedin in March 2027? - **Chase & Status, 5 March 2027.** 1News reported that the British drum and bass duo will play Forsyth Barr Stadium, their largest New Zealand concert to date. - **The first stadium headliner since 2024.** The same report says the show ends a drought of nearly 1,000 days since P!nk, the last artist to headline the stadium, in 2024. - **Bryan Adams, 13 March 2027.** Bryan Adams performs his acoustic Bare Bones show at the Dunedin Town Hall. - **A big month for the city.** Dunedin Venues chief executive Phil King described the pair as "two very different shows, two world-class artists, one month". ![Fans with raised arms in front of a brightly lit concert stage at night](https://www.explera.co.nz/assets/photos/rear-view-carefree-fans-having-fun-music-festival-front-illuminated-stage-night_637285-615-1400.webp) *Fans with raised arms in front of a brightly lit concert stage at night* ## What should agents know about the venues? - **Forsyth Barr Stadium.** 1News describes it as fully roofed, so the concert does not depend on the weather. - **Dunedin Town Hall.** A central city venue, and a smaller and more intimate setting than the stadium. - **Tickets.** Dunedin Venues lists both shows, and Ticketek is its ticketing partner for the stadium and the Town Hall. Release dates and prices were not published when we checked on 27 October 2026. We do not sell concert tickets; clients or their agent buy them from the official seller, and we plan everything around the show. - **Two different crowds.** The two shows suit different clients, so we plan each group's programme around the one it is travelling for. ## How do groups plan around the concerts? - **Book rooms early.** A stadium concert brings visitors from across New Zealand, and central Dunedin has a limited number of hotel rooms. We hold rooms with a release date as soon as dates are confirmed. - **Transfers on the night.** We arrange a coach to and from the venue, so the group is not waiting for taxis after the show. - **Add a day or two.** The Otago Peninsula's albatross, penguins and seals, Tunnel Beach and the Central Otago Rail Trail all fit around a concert night. - **Getting there.** Dunedin Airport has domestic links, and Queenstown and Christchurch are the nearest international gateways. Dunedin to Queenstown is a road transfer of several hours, which we plan as a touring day. ![Silhouettes of an audience below blue and pink stage lights](https://www.explera.co.nz/assets/photos/rock-band-silhouettes-stage-concert_1204-200-1400.webp) *Silhouettes of an audience below blue and pink stage lights* ## How Explera DMC New Zealand can help We are the [Dunedin DMC](https://www.explera.co.nz/destinations/dunedin/) for travel agents and tour operators, planning [sports team and event travel](https://www.explera.co.nz/services/sports-team-and-event-travel-new-zealand/), [group tours](https://www.explera.co.nz/services/group-tours-new-zealand/), [hotels and lodges](https://www.explera.co.nz/services/hotels-and-lodges-new-zealand/) and [coach and private transfers](https://www.explera.co.nz/services/coach-and-private-transfers-new-zealand/).
